I attended the Fall/Winter Vivienne Tam Show at Lincoln Center on Monday night and was delightfully impressed once again with her choices in fabric, silhouettes and overall production. She took beiges and neutrals to another level by adding crisp details. My favorite look was the tan trench coat and pants combo. While this look is extremely wearable, it screams out high fashion and cannot compare to anything that a retail or online boutique could recreate.
This collection is described as "an urban romantic take on chinoiserie -- the European concept of China, sparked by its imagination of the mystical and exotic Far East. This prevailing aesthetic characterized by intricate designs that blend ornate European design with rich imagery from the East -- lush renderings of birds, pagodas, boats, bamboos, bridges and more -- was iterated in mirrors, furniture, wall coverings, draperies and decorative art objects that dominated interior and fashion design."
I have always been in love with the way her collections always seem to have a fun quirkiness with a subtle sex appeal which showcases a woman can be flirty, fashionable and sexy at the same time. High necklines and longer lengths have always worked in Vivienne's favor. I cannot wait to see what she brings in September for Spring/Summer 2016.
Celebrities such as Adrienne Bailon and Jeannie Mai from the real were seated in the front row. Also in the fron were Tashiana Washington from Gimme Shelter and Eric West.
