Trend Alert: Neutral is the New Black

The all nude/neutral look has always looked good. It is polished, demure and sexy without being out there. However, this past season the trend has grown to new heights with almost everyone trying it!

Please look forward to future ootd's with nude/neutral looks. This has always been my favorite color!

Zang Toi: Fall/Winter 2015 Collection Review

I attended the Zang Toi Fall/Winter fashion show for their Fall/Winter 2015 Collection. As a HUGE fan of his as a designer and overall person, I am pleased to say he delivered once again.

My attraction towards his collections is not only his execution of timeless and intricate designs but also in the way that he continually shows versatility and creates a whole new look, vibe and feel each fashion week.

I attended his last show which was full of energy, funk and playfulness as the beautiful models walked down the runway to Lenny Kravitz "American Woman." This collection was colorful and bold. What I love is how this new collection is the exact opposite but still equally stunning and captivating. The theme "Mystique Beauty of Venice," was perfect for an array of dark exotic colors and silhouettes that were perfect for a masquerade ball. The clothing was delicate yet strong; captivating yet soft. I must say I was absolutely blown away. My favorite piece being a beautiful muted brown cape with black beading on top of a black LBD (seen below) was the last look and must I say a look I will gladly recreate one day! :-) The show ended with the model in this look grasping the arm of her male counterpart who donned a dramatic mask and crisp velvet suit. Of course Zang Toi and his always cheerful presence graced the runway shortly after. I cannot wait to see what is in store for Spring/Summer 2016. Great job!

Vivienne Tam: Fall/Winter 2015 Collection Review

I attended the Fall/Winter Vivienne Tam Show at Lincoln Center on Monday night and was delightfully impressed once again with her choices in fabric, silhouettes and overall production. She took beiges and neutrals to another level by adding crisp details. My favorite look was the tan trench coat and pants combo. While this look is extremely wearable, it screams out high fashion and cannot compare to anything that a retail or online boutique could recreate.

This collection is described as  "an urban romantic take on chinoiserie -- the European concept of China, sparked by its imagination of the mystical and exotic Far East. This prevailing aesthetic characterized by intricate designs that blend ornate European design with rich imagery from the East -- lush renderings of birds, pagodas, boats, bamboos, bridges and more -- was iterated in mirrors, furniture, wall coverings, draperies and decorative art objects that dominated interior and fashion design."

I have always been in love with the way her collections always seem to have a fun quirkiness with a subtle sex appeal which showcases a woman can be flirty, fashionable and sexy at the same time. High necklines and longer lengths have always worked in Vivienne's favor. I cannot wait to see what she brings in September for Spring/Summer 2016.

Celebrities such as Adrienne Bailon and Jeannie Mai from the real were seated in the front row. Also in the fron were Tashiana Washington from Gimme Shelter and Eric West.
